Q: Why start a blog?

A: Why not!?! I am always looking for a way to "talk things out" and this is a good way to do that. I also cover a lot of DIY and homemade products that I have been getting questions about from family members and friends. This is a good way to get those recipes and ideas in one place for all of us to use. It is also a good way to reach out to others around the world and let them know that taking things into your own hands can be exciting and fun and no matter how "busy" we get there is always a way to make a little time to do some things ourselves.

Q: How do you find the time to DIY?

A: I make the time. There was a point in my life where I would have said "Make my own laundry detergent... there is no way!" But now I have realized that it forces me to slow down and learn to make time. DIYing is something that I have found I truly enjoy and making time for the things that are fun is important in keeping our sanity. I have two children, a full time job, I'm in college and I make the time... you can too!

Q: Is homemade really worth the effort?

A: I think that everyone has to answer that question individually but for me... ABSOLUTELY! Mostly because I enjoy it but it doesn't hurt that it is better for us and saves my family money.

Q: What all can we expect to see in your blog?

A: Probably a little bit of everything. I titled it Southern Mommy Minute because I want to share things from the minutes that make my life a whole. Every minute of every day teaches us something new and I want to be able to share what life is like for me and the things I learn through life experiences as well as things that keep my family running (even the times when we might not be running in the right direction). I was born and raised in the south and now I am raising a family here. There are others around the U.S. and world that don't understand a southern life and I plan to give them a little bit of an eye into what life here can be like.
